A new three-storey property will be built on Crowthorne High Street after plans were approved by Bracknell Forest Council.
The site, situated at 186-188 High Street, will see the development of two retail units on the ground floor and eight one-bedroom flats on floors one and two, as well as associated parking.
The construction will commence following the demolition of the existing two-storey building, previously occupied by Newman’s shoe shop which closed permanently in 2020.

The parking layout to the rear of the property will provide space for 18 cars, with the existing access being widened to allow for delivery and refuse vehicles.
Two cycle stores will be built under the building with room for 14 bikes for both residents and staff of the shop units.
The proposal was brought before the planning committee after the original plan, which included a fourth-storey and a further four flats, had received 13 objections from both local residents and Crowthorne Council.
Amendments to the scheme, namely removing the extra storey, resulted in the objections being withdrawn and the plan subsequently received unanimous approval.
The vice chairman of the planning committee, Councillor Michael Brossard, said: “I think this is an excellent scheme [and] I believe that the concerns of the residents have been addressed.”
