The now notorious Sue Gray report has finally been published after months of delay.

The senior civil servant was tasked with conducting an inquiry into 12 alleged illegal lockdown gatherings at Number 10 after the original investigator, the UK’s top civil servant, Simon Case, quit the probe when it emerged one of the events was held in his office.

An interim version was published in January which outlined ‘failures of leadership and judgment’ in Number 10, however its full release was delayed when the Metropolitan Police belatedly chose to investigate the alleged breaches.

The police investigation concluded last week with a total of 126 fixed penalty notices issued, including for the Prime Minister and Chancellor, leaving Number 10 as the address that received the most lockdown fines in the country.

When these ‘parties’ occurred, a total of 6,046 people across the UK died within 28 days of a positive covid test – including six in Bracknell and 15 in Wokingham.

The ‘party’ date which saw the most deaths in the borough was January 14, 2021 – when a leaving event for two private secretaries was held in No. 10 – which saw five deaths in Bracknell and a further three in Wokingham.
