Persistent car thieves have been thwarted after multiple attempts to steel a car in Sunningdale Ascot.
On Wednesday, June 15 between 3:10 and 3:25am, the owner of a home in The Covert was woken by multiple pings on their phone, indicating movement outside their house from CCTV and doorbell cameras.
Footage showed a group of men attempting to steal their car on the driveway using a relay device. This transfers the signal from a key inside the house to a portable device that allows thieves to unlock and drive the car.

Due to multiple car thefts, the owner’s key’s were kept inside a signal blocking pouch – called Faraday bags- which is lined with layers of metallic material that can block a key’s signal from reaching an external device.
Thames Valley Police said: This resident has done exactly right thing – keeping both keys in a Faraday Pouch – and as a result – still has their car – despite multiple attempts !!!
