Through the years, Bracknell has been many shops and restaurants come and go. From restaurants to café’s, chain’s to independents there is always one that you wonder why they closed down.
There is nothing better than a trip to your local where everyone knows your name and you know exactly what you want before looking at the menu.
We asked Bracknell readers the question, ‘What closed restaurant do you miss in Bracknell’ and the response was interesting.

From the multiple responses that readers left, the eateries were extremely varied.
One of the most missed food establishments in Bracknell closed more than 30 years ago and residents are still missing their beautiful bespoke burgers. Wimpy’s restaurant was once a popular restaurants frequented by regulars and visitor’s alike.
Luckily, it is coming back to the Lexicon this summer so readers will be able to experience the joy of experiencing their childhood restaurant once more.
Thai and Indian restaurant’s were a popular food type that has been missed over the years.
People reminisced over the restaurant, The Passage to India which was located on Market Street.

Reader, Tasha Carroll, who tagged her friends saying: “The memories of the passage! A bowl of chips 1 nann bread with 20 shots of vodka between us.”
Dyason Fish and Chip shop was a popular restaurant that in the past, according to Patrick Cooper, had a fish restaurant above it called ‘The Golden Plaice.’
This used to be located in Old Broadway since the 1980’s.
In regard to chain restaurants Burger King and Franky and Benny’s are said to be missed. Readers have said that they would love them back.
Café’s that have fond members attached include The Oven Door which once served ‘the best breade, doughnuts and buns’ and Bb’s with it’s ‘delicious muffins.’
