A WORLD-RECORD attempt took place at a stick horse parade in Hurst.
The Hurst Show and County Fayre aimed to host the world’s largest hobby horse parade on Martineau Green on Sunday, June 26.
More than 260 villages took part in the event and the organisers are keeping their hooves crossed they make it into the Guiness World Records.
Hobby horses are a tradition that began at the show more than 20 years ago, when foot and mouth disease prevented real horses from being shown.
The Hurst Show and County Fayer posted on its Facebook page: “A massive thanks to all those who helped make it all happen behind the scenes.”
It thanked Reading Scottish Pipe Band, the Rotary Club of Loddon Vale Mayday, Posterity Video Productions and Parkers Twyford.
Riders trotted down to the green at 1.30pm on the day to collect a ride sticker and to borrow a hobby horse for the record attempt.
Guinness World Records has yet to confirm if the attempt beat the current record.
