Berkshire’s leading Triathlon squad have raised thousands of pounds after the death of one of their much-loved members.
Andy Hey, a local athlete from Bracknell passed away during competition in the Iron Man Staffordshire on Sunday, June 12.
As a valued and well-loved member of the community, friends and supporters have reached out to provide support to his family through this Crowd Funder.

Karen Dax, a teacher, triathlete and member of the Berkshire Tri Squad set up the Just Giving page to honour Andy’s memory by giving his family a little monetary support.
In the Just Giving page, Karen said: “Andy was a vibrant and much loved member of Berkshire Tri Squad and we are devastated to learn of his passing, whilst competing in the sport he loved.
“We want to honour his memory by supporting the family with a monetary amount for them to decide how to use this.
“He will be very much missed and all our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”

Supporters and donators left messages and tributes along with generous donations to help the family over this troubling time.
Supporter Andy Newing said: “So shocked and upset to hear of this news. Mouse you were always my hero on the mod scene but there was so much more to you too. Husband, Father, runner, triathlete and thoroughly decent Man. RIP.”
Fellow Tri-Squad member, Liam Mifsud commented: “So sad to hear this news. Andy was a cheerful companion on our Saturday club rides, there are routes and stops where we will always remember him.
Andy was also a member of staff at Wildridings School and a valued member of the school community.

The Crowd funder target was originally set for £1,000. On June 14, over £2,000 had been raised.
On June 14 Karen Dax, organiser of the Crowd funder said:
“Thank you to everyone who has donated - I can't believe we are over £2000. Every penny will go towards Andy's wife and two children so please keep giving generously.
“We are so touched by the wider triathlon family who have donated to this, as well as other people who don't know Andy but are touched by this event. He deserves all this love he is receiving.”
So far, Berkshire Tri-Squad have raised £3,570 through 122 kind donations.
