An 18-year-old man from Wokingham has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The news comes after a man, also aged 18, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after receiving stab wounds to the chest on the Kennet towpath near Avon Place, according to Thames Valley Police.
The arrested man is also suspected of possessing cocaine with intent to supply and remains in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Turton said: “Our investigation into this assault is continuing and we have made an arrest in connection with it.
“Further, the section 60 order that was enacted on Monday will end this evening.
“Thank you to the public for your understanding whilst this order has been place, it is important in keeping our communities safe.”
The wounded man has since been discharged from hospital.
A Section 60 order was put in place for 48 hours, allowing police to stop and search people without reasonable grounds until 6.40pm today (July 6).
