A WOKINGHAM restaurant has added an unusual item to its menu – luxury bespoke tailored suits.
While the town isn’t generally known as a destination for clothes shopping you can now visit Sultan, in Market Place, to order some new threads.
Sunil Chopra, who runs Sultan Café and has decades of experience as tailor, is now holding regular “tailor’s trunk shows” at the venue.
Clients will be able to enjoy a drink while getting fitted for a suit, shirt or even a t-shirt.
Sunil said: “It’s a chance to come along and meet your tailor and have a fitting while enjoying a drink on us.
“I’m offering free consultations to help you discover what we offer and the thousands of different fabrics we have available.
“You can even bring along your old suit or other item for us to replicate. Perhaps it’s the perfect fit but has become worn – don’t worry, we can make you a brand new version using the fabric of your choice.”
Sunil has measured suits for a diverse range of clients, including dignitaries, politicians and diplomats from across the globe.
Recently he fitted a suit for bodybuilder Martyn Ford which he described as “a challenge”.
“Martyn was a great guy, but it was a challenge measuring him because of his size!
“I’m really hoping to bring something different to Wokingham. There are not many places outside of London where you can get measured for a suit and have access to such a vast range of luxury fabrics and makers around the world.”
Fittings take place from Wednesday to Sunday, call 07399 129416.
