The construction of Bracknell’s new health and community centre has reached a key milestone after the building’s roof deck was completed.
The Binfield Community and Health Hub, situated in the heart of the Blue Mountain development, has now ‘topped out’ ahead of its planned opening in 2023.
The borough’s mayor, Cllr Ankur Shiv Bhandari, attended a ceremony on July 11, alongside representatives from collaborators including the council, Frimley Health, Binfield Parish Council, Binfield GP surgery, and the buildings’ contractors – Osborne.
It marked the completion of the metal deck on top of the development, which comprises of a double height hall, meeting and activity space, GP consultation and examination rooms, and minor procedures room.

Executive Member for Adult Services, Health and Housing, Cllr Dale Birch said it was “wonderful” to see the “much needed” facility taking shape.
“[…] the new centre will provide a number of integrated primary health and community services under one roof to the residents of Binfield, in a modern and environmentally sustainable facility,” he added.
The chairman of Osborne, Andrew Osborne, said he is “delighted” with the collaboration between the partners and stakeholders as they took to deliver the ‘net zero energy building’.
Director of Operations for Bracknell Forest at NHS Frimley Health, Helen Single, said: “This topping out ceremony marks a significant landmark on our journey […] to provide sustainable primary and community care services.”
