Dates for this year’s Bracknell Forest Festival have been announced, where two new giants are set to be unveiled.
The festival will take place between August 24 and September 4 at The Lexicon, and include a Forest Guardian area, The Night Forest Show, and the Fifth Birthday Proms.
The Forest Guardian area will host the ‘Get Green and Active’ volunteer scheme, designed to encourage people within the borough to get outdoors and closer to nature.

Executive member for economic development and regeneration at the council, councillor Marc Brunel-Walker, said the green spaces are “fundamental” to the borough and the event will show the local community how they can get more involved.
Children will be encouraged to make their own conservation and wellbeing pledges by a new giant, Bracknell Forest Guardian Elderma.
Another new 5m-high giant, Will Wildwood, will be in Princess Square.

At the Interactive Night Forest theatre show, five forest creatures will appear to ‘come to life’ with the help of holographic technology.
Other activities include a Seedling Sprite Trail, a host of entertainers and The Lexicon Fifth Birthday Proms on September 3.
The Lexicon’s general manager Rob Morris said: “A combination of our three returning giants, two fabulous new giants and all the surrounding activities will make this our largest event since we opened five years ago.”
