The following cases were heard at Reading and Slough Magistrates’ Courts:
July 4
MICHAEL AYRES, 23, of Point Royal, Bracknell, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend unpaid work sessions in March and April 2022. Ordered to pay costs of £75.
DAVID CALLAGHAN, 55, of Furze Bank, Sunningdale, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend unpaid work in May 2022. Fined £1,406 and made to pay £60 in court costs.
A fundamental principle of justice is that it must be seen to be done. Open justice is acclaimed on a number of grounds: as a safeguard against judicial error, to assist the deterrent function of criminal trials and to permit the revelation of matters of interest.
