Eligible households are being urged to apply for the £150 council tax rebate if they haven’t already done so.
Residents who pay council tax via direct debit are automatically paid by the council, however, those that pay by other methods must apply online or over the phone and confirm their bank details to receive the payment.
The one-off rebate, which does not need to be repaid, is part of a national scheme aimed at helping offset the rising costs of energy bills.

It is available to council taxpayers living in bands A to D, as well as those living in properties rated E who qualify for the disabled band reduction may also be eligible for this scheme.
The executive member for finance, Cllr Imogen Shepherd-DuBey, said that energy costs “show no sign of reducing” and highlighted that a number of eligible households are still yet to make a claim.
