A Wokingham waste management firm has been handed a huge court bill after hijacking water from Thames Water.
Representatives for A1 Wokingham Wet Waste Ltd, based on Highland Avenue, admitted two counts of attaching pipes to Thames Water’s water mains in a court hearing last month.
The incidents occurred in London on December 13, 2021, and in Shinfield on January 18, 2022, without the consent of Thames Water.
The firm was fined £1,285 for the offences and ordered to pay costs of £1,715.41 at Reading Magistrates Court on Friday, July 29.
Wokingham Wet Waste Ltd bosses must also pay a £128 victim surcharge.
In total, the company will have to pay £3,218.41.
