An extraordinary duo from Sandhurst will be featured in an art exhibition a trip to Mexico left one of them fighting for survival.
The project ‘Extraordinary Portraits’ with Tinie Tempah aired on BBC arts on February 27 pairing up inspirational people with celebrated artists to paint their portraits.
The challenge was to turn powerful experiences into compelling portraits.

Melissa and Georgia Laurie were chosen after being caught in a crocodile attack while swimming in a lagoon in Mexico.
All the portraits will now be exhibited at The Turner Contemporary Margate from September 7 to October 23.
The co-founder, Ali Quirk, of Chatterbox Media who made the BBC one programme said: “We are proud of the portraits that were produced for this series. They aren’t just technically brilliant, but also powerful.
“This series has quickly developed a dedicated following, and active fan-base. We can’t wait for them to be able to see the pictures up close.”

Now both home and safe, they were chosen for this exhibition and BBC one arts programme, to highlight their strength and bravery.
Other inspirational people who sat for a variety of distinctive artists were a Shetland Island cancer survivor, an autistic surf champion and a bisexual footballer all captured in different forms of art.
