THE public are being urged to avoid the area surrounding Swinley Forest as firefighters tackle a blaze this afternoon.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFS) at currently at the scene along with crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire service is telling people to avoid the area for their own safety.
A spokesperson for RBFS said: "At 12:26pm on Saturday, 13 August, we received reports of a fire in the open near Mitcham Road, Camberley.
"A water carrier from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service was sent to the scene to support crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.
"Upon arrival, crews found a large fire in the open. Firefighters remain at the scene of the incident. Please avoid the area where possible."
