The Bracknell Forest launched on Friday, coinciding with World Photography Day.
The best photos taken in the borough will win a share of a £225 prize fund.
The free competition, which ends on October 31, is sponsored by Bracknell Camera Club and Duncan Yeardley Estate Agents, Economic and Skills Development Partnership.
Cllr John Harrison, Executive Member for Culture, Delivery and Public Protection said: "We’ve chosen the theme to celebrate our amazing local places and how they make Bracknell Forest a special place in which to live, work and play.
