The Bull has applied for a license to build an additional bar in the garden of the premises.
The Sonning based pub wants to install a small dispense bar and store area to supply alcohol in the rear garden until 11pm each day, which the applicant claims will “help with controlling the flow of customers from the inside bar”.
There have been 16 separate objections to the proposal, with most citing an issue with the expected increase in noise and traffic levels.
One objector, nearby resident Dr David Mcilroy, included a petition containing 20 signatures with his representation.

Another, Paul Benton, did so due to a “desire to prevent a public nuisance in this conservation area”, which he claims will produce greater “light pollution and noise pollution”.
“If the new garden was given permission to be used until 11pm the pollution wouldn’t stop as customers would have drinking up time, then time to move out of the area and then cleaning up time,” he added.
Sonning Parish Council have also registered its objection to the plan claiming “sympathy with neighbours” of the pub.
The application will go before Wokingham Borough Council’s licensing and appeals hearings subcommittee on Friday (September 9) for a decision.
