A state-of-the-art Bracknell gym has launched it’s brand new commercial PT space with an open day in memory of a client who passed away from Bowel Cancer.
Richard Jones, co-owner of PT:U personal training, decided to hold the event on Saturday, September 10 as both a celebration of their new venue and as a fundraiser for Bowel Cancer UK.
Clients old and new joined the team at their new home in the Pinewood Recreation Centre for fitness challenges, raffles, a BBQ and free classes with their professional PT’s.
Richard said: “We are a PT company that has been around for nine years and have now decided to move from an industrial estate to a recreation and leisure centre.
“The day was both a celebration of the hard work and investment that has gone into the finished project as well as a tribute to our late client Kevin.”
From professional athletes to clients of retirement age, their 14 PT: U personal trainers coach a variety of local people.
He added: “Kevin Heero was a local to the Sandhurst area who has been with us for quite some time. He trained with myself, my business partner and one of our other trainers over the years.
“At the age of 50, he leaves behind a family after passing away from Bowel Cancer this year. This is why we have chosen to fundraise for the charity Bowel Cancer UK.”
Unlike other commercial gyms, PT:U is a membership free facility providing personal training and small fitness classes.
To help local PT’s get their business up and running, they also rent out gym space to trainers who want to build a client base in a state of the art commercial grade gym.
During the open day, they managed to raise £450 which will be donated to the UK cancer charity.
“We are now focused on getting our name out into the new area we find ourselves in and the new community, building the business and helping to improve people’s health and fitness in the area.”
