Planned strikes affecting South Western Railway (SWR) services have been suspended following the death of The Queen last week.
Industrial action had originally been scheduled for Thursday September 15 and Saturday September 17, however, the trade unions involved have agreed to call off the plans.
SWR says it “welcome[s] the decision” and is “united with the rest of the railway family” in sending condolences to the Royal Family.

The company plans to reinstate a normal service for the days which would have been affected and are also “working through” what further changes might be required “as part of preparations to help the nation commemorate”.
A train timetable for the day of the funeral, which takes place on Monday September 19, has not yet been published but SWR warned customers that services are expected to be “extremely busy” on the day.
