The former editor of British vogue is set to talk all things sustainable fashion and ageless style in an exclusive fundraising evening at Ascot Racecourse.
Organised by charity Smart Works Reading, the fashion icon Alexandra Shulman will be discussing ageless style and clothes for confidence.
The event, on October 12, has been organised to raise funds for the Berkshire charity that supports women in need.
Helen Francis, chair, Smart Works Reading said: “We’re delighted Alexandra is joining us at Ascot Racecourse.
“With such an amazing, influential name in fashion supporting us, we are expecting this event to be an enormous success enabling us to raise vital funds to help more women into work.”
This is an exclusive evening where the celebrated columnist, writer and editor in chief will join the journalist and sustainable fashion advocate, Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey.
Ginny is an ambassador for the charity helping women enter the job market via it’s job interview dressing and coaching scheme.
The evening will give guests the opportunity to shop curated fashion brands and designer sale rails, bid for auction prizes and enjoy Slingsby Gin and canapes on arrival.
Smart Works Reading provides a two-stage consultation at their main centre in Reading. Clients are given an interview-ready outfit that is theirs to keep, followed by a one-to-one coaching session with an HR professional to help our clients excel at interview.
The charity said: “We help some of the most vulnerable women in society, who are referred to us from job centres, prisons, refuges, mental health charities and other support services.
“The women we see want a job but lack the confidence to succeed at interview.
“Last year, almost three quarters of our clients went on to get the job, gaining financial independence and transforming their lives.”
Other events that are being held by the charity include the Reading job fair on September 28 and the fashion sale which took place in June.
Alexandra Shulman edited Vogue since 1992 and has been a writer and columnist for The Telegraph, The Times and The Mail on Sunday as a columnist.
The event will take place in the Parade Ring Restaurant at Ascot Racecourse on October 12 between 6:45pm and 9:30pm.
