The fast-food brand Burger-King has announced the temporary closure of its Wokingham branch set for a major refurbishment this month.
Customers noticed that the drive-thru restaurant located at Carnival Field Leisure Centre had closed it’s doors earlier this week with rumours that a transformation was to take place.
It has now been confirmed that when it re-opens it will include features that will improve customer experience and restaurant operations.
A spokesperson for Burger King said: "Burger King® UK is committed to delivering the best customer experience and high-quality meals.
"We can confirm that the Wokingham restaurant has closed for a complete refurbishment. The refurb will include a new kitchen and dining area – designed to create more space and to help with operations.
"The restaurant will also benefit from drive-thru digital screens and an additional three new ordering kiosks to improve customer experience. What’s more, customers will also get to enjoy a new shake and ice-cream machine, a frozen coke machine, as well as updated self-serve drinks machines.
"Burger King® UK is unable to confirm the re-opening date at this time however we will keep you informed when more information becomes available."
This refurbishment comes after the branch was named ‘Worst Burger King in the UK’ according to reviews online.
Customers at the restaurants have said the Burger joint in the leisure point ‘needs bulldozing as too small to keep up with 2022’.
