Bracknell residents will finally get their wish, as a popular fast-food joint is set to open a restaurant at The Lexicon.
American burger chain Five Guys will soon be coming to 20 Braccan Walk, evidenced by the company submitting a planning application to Bracknell Forest Council.
The site is currently occupied by restaurant and bar chain Bill’s, which is vacating the premises.
Earlier this year, the Bracknell News Facebook page asked residents the question: “If you could bring one new restaurant or shop to Bracknell, what would it be?”

Whilst the most common suggestions were for clothes shops, Five Guys came out on top when it came to restaurants.
No announcement had been made, however, the application proposing alterations to the front of the unit refers to Five Guys as the “ingoing tenant”.
If approved, the frontage will display three new illuminated signs, eight branded breeze screens for the outdoor seating area and three branded parasols, as well as a new front door to the side of the building.
The restaurant will be set over two floors, with the kitchen and seating area located on the ground floor and toilets and staff area on the first floor.

The dining areas will have space to seat 58 customers, consisting of internal seating for 40 and external space for 18.
Five Guys, Bill’s and The Lexicon were approached for comment.
The restaurant chain, headquartered in Lorton, Virginia, was founded in 1986 by Janie and Jerry Murrell. Jerry, alongside the couple’s four sons, Jim, Matt, Chad, and Ben, were the original “Five Guys.” The couple later had a fifth son – all ‘five guys’ are currently involved in the business.
It opened its first UK store at Covent Garden in July 2013. Since then, the company has expanded to include 148 outlets operating throughout the country – the nearest being located at The Oracle in Reading with a plan to open another in Winnersh.
