A popular community café is set to launch the expansion of it’s second store in the heart of Windsor next month.

Despite cost-of-living difficulties that have been crippling the UK economy, the owner of ‘Cup of Rosie – Coffee Bar’ is defying expectations.

Owner and chief baker, Louise Petley first opened in the town centre location one year ago and has said it has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Louise said: “We took up the space in Easthampstead Works a year ago after our horsebox started to take off at big events.

“We host a lot of small groups that come in. For example, the Happiness hub come in once a month, and a few mental health groups come in to have group sessions.

“There is also a really nice break-out area which has two big sofas so it’s a bit calmer than a children’s play area.”

The opportunity to open a second store in Windsor has been in the works for the last six months and now Rosie’s have finally found the perfect location just opposite the castle.

Although prices are rising, Louise says that she believes in her product and that the need for a good cup of coffee and good cake will always be universal.

She explained: “There is never going to be a right time to expand. The economy is always going to be changing and it has done so for the last few years.

“I think that we have to believe in our product and believe in what we do. The coffee is really good coffee and we’re pitched a really competitive price.

“What makes us stand out against all the other amazing coffee shops in the high street is that we make all of our cakes ourselves and they are constantly changing. This means we can be flexible and adaptable to our customers wants and needs.”

Cup of Rosie’s café is also expanding in terms of the products that they sell in their Bracknell and Windsor cafes. As well as their traditional coffees and cakes, the dynamic business has been working with ‘Coopers Trading’ to create their own blend.

She added: “A lot of people have a lot of respect for a good coffee so we do try to get the best of the best. The guys at Coopers work tirelessly to make sure each bean is toasted perfectly and we believe in their products as much as we believe in us as customers.”

“The reason we pitched to Windsor is because, like Bracknell, it has such a warm sense of community feel and similar ethos that everyone has each other’s backs.

“It’s a natural transition to move into that community and try to add value whether we can.”

The new shop will be opening in four weeks in Curfew Yard offering a beautiful courtyard for outdoor relaxation in the summer months.
