In Wokingham a plan has been submitted proposing to install a new tattoo studio at an industrial park in Woodley, as well as a Screening Opinion application to build 450 homes on land in Arborfield.

Construction of four additional bedrooms at a dementia care home in Binfield (22/00801/FUL)
An application has been submitted seeking approval for two one-storey extensions at the rear to Beech House Dementia Care Home in Binfield to provide four new rooms.
It proposes a one-storey ground floor rear extension to the west wing providing one of the bedrooms, as well as a one-storey infill rear extension for a further three-bedrooms.
Beech House Care Home facility provides care for elderly people aged over 65, specialising in those suffering from dementia.
The applicant claims the extra rooms are required as the home has been over 90 per cent full for more than a year and has several enquiries a week for new customers.
Conversion of a three-bedroom home into two flats on Long Hill Road (22/00743/FUL)
An application has been submitted proposing the conversion of a house into flats at 4B Bakehouse Court on Long Hill Road.
The development seeks to convert the existing terraced property into two self-contained flats, one two-bedroom unit and one one-bedroom unit.
To accommodate the changes, no significant external changes are required, and external changes limited to the removal of the rear garage door which will be replaced with brickwork and a new UPVC window.
Access to and from the property will not change as a result of the development and off-street parking will be provided.
Plan to install a tattoo studio on Woodley Park Estate (222559)
A plan has been submitted proposing to change the use of a room on the first floor of a commercial building on Woodley Park Estate to a tattoo studio.
Located on the first floor of unit 4c at 59-69 Reading Road, the applicant intends to let the space and convert it for a purpose-built tattooist.
The applicant proposes a provision of three parking spaces, with the expectation that the studio would have a minimum of six clients per week and a maximum of 12.
The proposed operating hours would be Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm, with the studio set to be closed on a Sunday.
Screening Opinion application to build 450 homes in Arborfield (223370)
An application has been submitted regarding the potential development of 450 homes on land at Cross Lanes Farm in Arborfield.
Property developers Mactaggart & Mickel Homes England Ltd have asked the council whether an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is needed prior to submitting a full planning application for the development.
Of the 450 planned new homes, 35 per cent (158) of properties are described as ‘affordable housing’.
If given the go ahead, the plans would also see the development of two access points to the site – the main one from Swallowfield Road and a secondary one from Reading Road – as well as a new Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space (SANG), open spaces, green corridors and play areas.
