A plan to build a new 45-home development in Binfield makes up part of this week’s planning round up.   

In Bracknell there has been an application for a new shopfront, including windows and signage, for a hair salon situated within the leisure centre, as well as a plan to build up to 45 new homes and associate green infrastructure on land in Binfield.   

In Wokingham an application has been submitted proposing the development of up to 230 homes and a new rugby ground in Twyford, as well as a Listed Building application for the erection of an outbuilding and new drive in Hurst.

Plan for a new shop-front and sign for the leisure centre salon (22/00921/FUL)

Plans have been submitted proposing a new shopfront for a salon within the leisure centre on Bagshot Road. 

The shop front will include new windows and external signage for the popular hair and beauty salon. 

B.O.B Affordable Luxury Hairdressing, based in Bracknell Leisure Centre, and their hair stylists were named Hair Salon of the Year for 2022. 

Both Callum Gough and Adele Sylvester won in their respective categories as ‘Barbour of the Year' (Callum) and 'Hairstylist of the Year' (Adele) 

Outline application to build up to 45 new homes on land in Binfield (22/00907/OUT)

An Outline Application for the development of up to 45 dwellings and associated green infrastructure on and in Binfield has been submitted.  

Developers Bloor Homes and Sharon and Howard Millet are looking to build new homes on land at the junction of Forest Road and Wood Lane. 

The exact number of homes, the mix of homes and types of tenure would be determined at a later stage, but initial proposals include plans for 35 per cent affordable housing. 

Parking for the homes would be provided on plot where possible and include EV charging facilities 

Public open space and a play area would be provided within the site, as well as pedestrian and cycle links to the eastern site boundary with Wood Lane, providing access to King’s Academy and to the south. 

Application for the development of 230-homes and a rugby ground in Twyford (223455)

A property developer has submitted plans to build up to 230 homes and a new rugby club in a Berkshire village. 

David Wilson Homes is looking to transform the current farmland off New Bath Road in Twyford, which is currently used for crop farming in polytunnels, into a huge housing development.  

The developers have said the proposal would provide a mix of homes with a range of tenures, 40 per cent of which would be affordable. 

It could also provide a new rugby ground for Rams RFC, which is currently located in Sonning. 

Listed Building application for the erection of an outbuilding and new drive (223145)

An application for Listed Building consent proposes the erection of a detached outbuilding to form a garage and store, plus installation of replacement entrance gates and formation of a gravel drive.  

Vine Cottage, located on Orchard Road in Hurst, is currently occupied by a 4-bedroom grade II Listed detached dwelling with a separate annex building. 

The application details the construction of a detached three car garage and garden store building to provide storage for plants and machinery. 

The plan also consists of a 10x5 metre external swimming pool, proposed to be built adjacent to the main house, alongside the entrance gates and gravel driveway.
