Families across the UK are seeing increasing financial struggles as the cost-of-living crisis reaches breaking point.
Electricity prices are skyrocketing, the price of gas has seen a substantial jump and even with the slight decrease in fuel prices, they are still higher than they’ve been in years.
For some households, rising prices may mean cutting back on certain essentials this winter and for many that has meant heating and electricity.
Hence the creation of seven community winter hubs, offering a safe, warm place to spend time with family without worrying about heating your home.
The community winter locations are:
- Binfield Library
- Birch Hill Library
- Bracknell Library
- Crowthorne Library
- Sandhurst Library
- Whitegrove Library
- Time Square
Community hubs have also been set up multiple times a week in different locations offering a free hot lunch or a welcoming coffee morning.
These have been organised by Bracknell Forest Council working closely with partners in voluntary, community and faith sectors.
