A GARAGE is going to be transformed into a new physiotherapy centre in Wargrave after the council gave plans the green light.

The practice, set to be located on Langhams Way, will be run by Lucy Thorne – a physiotherapist with more than 10 years’ experience in the field.

With no physiotherapy currently in the area, Ms Thorne, who recently worked at Kensington Physio & Sports Medicine in London, anticipates the clinic will be ‘very well received’ by the local community.

It is expected that the practice will see a maximum of five patients per day and operate from 9am to 5pm, on only four days a week between Monday and Friday.

Patients will be able to book sessions for either 30 or 45 minutes, depending upon availability, as well as the applicant imposing a minimum 30-minute gap between sessions.

These gaps between clients are needed to ensure room cleaning, note writing, and verbal conversations with surgeons when required.

The domestic garage is said to be ‘quite spacious’, with the property also providing ample off-street parking for patients – a total of three spaces will mean two are available for clients’ cars and a further one for a visitor.

The plan received no objections either from local residents or Wargrave Parish Council.
