A series of major plans have been submitted recently that would introduce big changes in Bracknell and the wider area.

Remarkably, fresh plans have been submitted for the former Bracknell Town Football ground in Larges Lane after a fight to get initial plans approved last year.

In the town centre, advertising consent and shopfront changes have been submitted for the eagerly awaited Five Guys burger joint.

Meanwhile, in Wokingham Borough, a huge plan for 135 homes has been applied for at Arborfield Garrison.

You can view these applications by typing their references into the relevant council’s planning portal.

Fresh and scaled back plans have been submitted for the conversion of Bracknell Town FC’s former ground into a housing development.

The club’s owning company The SB Group won approval to build 117 apartments in three blocks in May 2022.

But now, a revised plan has been submitted, which involves the removal of one of the blocks so that 26 homes can be built instead, bringing housing on the site down to 88.

Two blocks would remain, containing a total of 64 apartments, with the new houses being divided into terraces of three and four homes.

Five Guys is gearing up to open in The Lexicon once and for all.

After plans were withdrawn in November last year, the American burger chain has submitted fresh plans to take over Unit 20 of Braccan Walk, previously occupied by Bill’s restaurant.

It has submitted two applications: reference 22/00991/FUL relates to changes to the ‘shopfront’ of the unit.

Application 22/00992/A is for advertising consent for the well-known Five Guys branding.

To facilitate customers requiring disabled facilities, a new entrance lobby would be created so that wheelchair users can access the toilet and the wider building.

The housebuilding company Crest Nicholson has submitted a plan to build 135 homes as part of the massive Arborfield Garrison major development.

Of the 135 homes, eight will be five-bedroom, 28 will be four-bedroom, 77 will be three-bed and 13 will be two-bed houses, with nine being two-bed flats.

A mix of two, three and four bedroom homes -27 in total- are designated affordable, making 20 per cent of the new homes provided.

While the development has already been approved on outline, Crest Nicholson had to submit these detailed plans for ‘Parcel 02’ of the development, located south of Biggs Lane and between Linear Park and a Suitable Area of Natural Green Space (SANG).
