Rumours have been circling among Ascot residents as to what production is set to start filming within Swinley Forest later this year.

Eagle eyed members of the public have seen construction workers and a ‘huge’ structure at Ascot’s filming site, Buttersteep Rise. 

The unidentified structure that can be seen from the walking trail nearby has people wondering if producers of the Lord of the Ring’s – Ring of Power series have chosen the beautiful grounds as one of their locations for season two.

The structure that is currently under construction looks suspiciously like a castle that may appear in the fantasy series – Ring of Power.

According the locals, security have been placed on entrance points at the perimeter of the popular filming location.

Buttersteep Rise was earmarked as a prime filming location in 2021 when a US production company choose the section of Swinley Forest for a new TV series.

We have contacted The Crown Estate who manage the grounds within Swinley Forest and are awaiting confirmation as to what the mysterious structure may be leading to.
