Seven cats have been rescued after police found them to be in "dire need of help".
On Sunday, officers from Thames Valley Police's ICR Team 3 attended an incident in the Bracknell and Wokingham area.
They soon became aware of an unrelated incident nearby concerning the welfare of three adult cats and four kittens.
Thames Valley Police said: "With assistance from Wokingham North Neighbourhood Team and the RSPCA, three adult cats and four kittens have been rescued and are now receiving the support they need. An investigation is ongoing at this time."
The Bracknell News reached out to the RSPCA for comment.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: "We can confirm that RSPCA officers joined Thames Valley Police to assist with an issue related to cat welfare.
“While this is looked into further, we cannot go into more detail for legal reasons, but the welfare of any cats involved is our top priority.”
