AN inquest into the death of a young female army officer cadet who fell victim to ‘gross sexual misconduct’ by senior soldiers will take place tomorrow (Monday, April 24).
Olivia Perks, 21, was found hanged in her room at Sandhurst military academy on February 6, 2019.
A pre-inquest review at Berkshire’s Coroners Court heard that sexual misconduct allegedly perpetuated against her was ‘clearly’ on her mind before she died.

Miss Perks had been in the last term of a 44-week officer training course at the Royal Military Academy when her body was found by Sergeant Major Richard Pask.
The full inquest, which is expected to last for three weeks, will focus on three events in the run-up to Ms Perks' death: the Royal Engineers visit; a trip to Normandy; and the Falklands Ball held on February 1, 2019.
Evidence from 18 witnesses will be considered.
The full hearing will seek to establish her past medical history, previous self-harm and how her suicide risk was managed.

Sexual misconduct and alcohol consumption emerged as issues during discussions of what issues lay within the scope of the inquest.
Coroner Alison McCormick told her family the inquest would be ‘full, fair and fearless’.
