THE trial of a man allegedly involved in a conspiracy to sell or transfer a gun has been delayed.
Damon Phillips, 24, was due to start trial today (April 03) at Reading Crown Court after being charged with conspiring to sell/transfer a pistol (a prohibited weapon) and conspiring to sell/transfer prohibited ammunition.
He was charged on November 2 last year along with three other people; Benjamin Phillips, 43, of London Road, Wokingham, Kenneth Brittan, 33, of Munnings Drive, Sandhurst, and Katie Rose Lee, 30, also of Munnings Drive, Sandhurst.

The charges are in connection with an investigation into the conversion and supply of viable firearms.
Officers conducted a warrant at premises in London Road, Wokingham, and search activity at premises in Munnings Drive, Sandhurst, on October 31 last year.
Those charged were remanded in custody and appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court where they were further remanded to appear at Reading Crown Court.
Phillips, of no fixed abode, will return to the same court tomorrow (April 04) to start the trial at about 2pm.

Brittan was also due in court today as his custody time limit has been reached and needed to be extended to accommodate a trial or/and sentencing.
