A new ceiling for a popular Bracknell pub in a listed building, and a new library in Twyford, are among this week’s roundup of planning applications and decisions.

(Bracknell Forest) Ceiling repairs for Old Manor pub: 23/00222/LB
The Old Manor Wetherspoon pub needs repairs after part of the ceiling in the customer area has “fallen down.” The pub has applied for permission to fix it as the building – dating from the Tudor period – is listed.
The building that now houses the pub was once two large Tudor houses, and even features a “priest hole” where Catholic priests would hide from persecution after their faith was outlawed.

Plasterer Leon Board of Southampton has applied to Bracknell Forest Council to carry out the work “ASAP”.
The application form says the work is required “where partial ceiling has fallen down in the customer area.”
(Bracknell Forest) New agricultural lab at Winkfield: 23/00317/FUL
New laboratory and office buildings are planned for the CRM testing facility near Winkfield.
Architects Teknidraft Designs want permission to build two new buildings at Coppers Bridge on Braziers Lane. It says these will be used for testing of water, agricultural equipment and offices.
The site is already used for specialist testing of agricultural material. The new development will also use the existing 73 parking spaces for cars, four spaces for light gods vehicles, six for motorcycles, and 12 for bicycles.
(Wokingham Borough) 14 new rooms at Cantley House Hotel and Country Club: 223765
Permission has been granted for a new outbuilding at Cantley House Hotel and Country Club in Wokingham.
Developers want to add an extension to the existing hotel, adding 14 new bedrooms. Wokingham Town Council’s planning committee said it supported the proposal and “welcome new local job opportunities.”
(Wokingham Borough) Old School Hall in Twyford to become library: 230787
The Old School Hall building on High Street in Twyford has been given permission to be converted into a library.
The application—submitted on behalf of Wokingham Borough Council itself—say plans also include a new two-story building that will provide facilities including a cafe. The work will also include renovation of the listed building.
(Wokingham Borough) 5G mast on Molly Millars Lane: 231308
CK Hutchison Networks has applied for permission to install a 15 metre high 5G phone mast with equipment cabinets on Molly Millars Lane in Wokingham.
Documents submitted with the development note that it is located on the same street as the Bright Horizons Nursery and Fantastic Kids child minders.
They also not that The United Kingdom Health Protection Agency says a “substantial amount of research” has found “no convincing evidence” that phone mast signals cause effects in adults or children.
