A BLACK Mirror episode, starring Salma Hayek and Schitts Creek's Annie Murphy, was filmed at a Crowthorne home.
Netflix filmed scenes of Black Mirror episode 'Joan is Awful', to be released on Thursday, June 15, at an American-style bungalow in Crowthorne.
Home owner, Jennifer Johnston, has written a blog about the filming process, as she hasn't "been able to talk about it until recently".
Writing in her blog, Jennifer said: "In September 2022, a Netflix film crew descended on our house to film some scenes for Season 6 of Black Mirror, and to say they left an impression on me is an understatement."
The episode called 'Joan is Awful' will star Salma Hayek and Annie Murphy.
Jennifer added: "Much to my excitement, and after months of waiting with bated breath, whilst keeping my mouth shut about who, what, where, when and why (due to an NDA) Netflix finally posted a trailer, teasing the series and announcing it would be released in June!
"Whoop whoop, I could finally spill the beans about Salma being in my house. I repeat, Salma Hayek was at my house!!"
Jennifer's blog explains how the Netflix show inspired her to create a rock garden at the front of her house, as that is how they dressed it for the Black Mirror episode.
The home owners have been renting the retro American ranch-style bungalow in Crowthorne for photo and film shoots since 2021.
When Netflix came along, it was "the best thing that could have happened", Jennifer wrote.
The film company redesigned the garden, adding rock gardens, which are seen in the Black Mirror scenes with Salma Hayek and Annie Murphy.
Jennifer added: "Many of our immediate neighbours had their gardens dressed with shrubs and American Post Boxes so it was a street effort and such great fun.
"Sadly, they took it all away the day after the shoot, and we were left with the bare bones of our bungalow again, but it also left me motivated to create my own rock gardens".
