BRACKNELL Lions Club partnered with a local school to collect items for a Bracknell food bank.
The Lions Club paired up with Wildridings Primary School to support a food bank at the Kerith Centre by collecting food items and toiletries.
On June 30, the groups came together to collect tins and packets of long life and non-perishable food.
The staff and families also brought in toiletries and much needed items which included 77 toothbrushes; 47 tubes of toothpaste; 63 shower gel, shampoo, soaps; 6 packs of sanitary products; 3 large containers of washing liquid and tablets.
Lions club president, Clare Dowling, who organised the collection said: “We are very grateful to the school for helping us help others. The whole school community got involved to make this a success.”
The Lions club extended its thanks to “Mr Chandler, school staff, parents and of course the pupils who got involved”, Clare added.
Bracknell Lions are part of the world's largest fundraising and services organisation.
The volunteers work in their community through raising money for charity and carrying out hands on practical volunteering tasks.
