A man from Bracknell has passed away three weeks after an attack left him hospitalised.
Surrey Police were called to reports of an assault on Bagshot High Street at around 10am on Thursday, June 15.
A 37-year-old man from Bracknell was badly injured in the attack and was taken to hospital where he remained until he passed away on Thursday, July 6.
His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.
Darren Makepeace, 38, of Wensley Road, Reading, was charged on Friday, June 16 with causing grievous bodily harm.
UPDATE: Following a trial at Guildford Crown Court, Makepeace was found not guilty of manslaughter by a unanimous verdict of the jury on the basis of self-defence.
