AN inquest will be held after a woman’s family suspect asbestos exposure contributed to her death.

An inquest was opened on Tuesday (August 15) at Berkshire Coroners Court to help establish the cause of her death.

Coroner Alison McCormick said: “Her family believe that her diagnosis [of malignant mesothelioma of the pleural] was caused by asbestos exposure.
“For those reasons, it’s going to be necessary to have an inquest in this case.”
A full inquest will take place at the same court on September 13.
