1. James Corden allowed to build £8million mega-mansion

Bracknell News:

HIGH Wycombe's James Corden has finally been given the green light to build his new dream home in the UK, putting an end to a year-long wait for approval.

The actor, who recently returned to the country after more than eight years in the US hosting The Late Late Show, plans to demolish an £8 million, 1960s property and replace it with a modern six-bedroom pad complete with an outdoor pool, sauna, and steam room.

Despite facing objections from the Wokingham Borough Council and English Heritage, James has now been given the go-ahead for the construction.

2. King's Guard's heartwarming moment with Ascot man

A heartwarming video of a man with special needs petting a King's Guard horse in London has gone viral, gaining over 44,000 views on YouTube.

Donny Curtis, from Ascot, has always had a deep love for the royal family, according to his mother.

In fact, he has even had the chance to meet Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, which was a significant moment for him.

3. Special educational needs staff sacked by Bracknell Forest Council

Bracknell News:

Two staff working on disabled children’s services have been sacked by Bracknell Forest Council due to “concerns about their performance,” it can be revealed.

Documents released on the council’s website show the agency officers were sacked last month, while council efforts to improve its special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services have been held up.

The council said it couldn’t comment on the sackings, but that its drive to improve SEND services was continuing “at pace”.

5. The Lexicon announces opening of Mr Simms sweet shop

Bracknell News:

A popular sweet shop has confirmed that it will be opening in an empty unit within The Lexicon shopping complex.

Mr Simms opened its doors in Alston House on Market Street in Monday, April 12 with a wide range of traditional sweets, delicious pick ‘n’ mix and a range of imported American Drinks.

Following the closure of the Market Street branch, an eagle-eyed member of the public spotted the iconic Mr Simms sign being put up outside a unit next to Al Torino on High Street.
