A popular village restaurant has closed its doors after a ‘tough few years’, according to local shop owners.
Triple BBB’s smokehouse, located on Crowthorne High Street, opened in 2020 as an authentic Texas Smokehouse & Bar.
Rumours surrounding the closure have been circulating on social media for the past few weeks as diners noticed its lack of custom.
The News visited the premises where they found from conversations with locals that the restaurant shows all signs that it has closed permenently.
The owner of Dobson Butchers, located on Crowthorne High Street said: “It’s a shame that it had to close because we were really looking forward to eating there.
“Because they were only opened two or three days a week, I can imagine that it would have been hard to get custom, especially through the pandemic.
“We saw vans pull up yesterday and they were taking furniture and equipment out of the restaurant so I’m guessing it’s permanently closed although I can’t say for sure.”
A ‘Notice of Forfeiture’ was posted on the door of the property on August 15 announcing that no one may lawfully enter into the premises without authority from the owner.
The notice issued on August 15 states: “Unless an application is made as set out below within 14 days of the date of this notice, the Landlord intends to sell or dispose of all or any of the items left in the premises.
A ‘SOLD' sign can be seen posted on the side of the building however after further discussion with Prospect Estate Agents they have confirmed that the sign indicates properties behind the restaurant.
