The Bracknell Town Mayor is to run the virtual London Marathon next year for charity.
Mayor Simon Carter is aiming to raise £500 for his charity of the year Power of Parenting.
As it stands he has raised £150 and is training hard for the run which will take place on April 21, 2024.
A Bracknell Town Council spokesperson said: "This money will go towards helping children in foster care further their education with extra tuition, uni fees, swimming lessons and lots more support."
In a Just Giving campaign, Simon said: "I am Simon Carter, Bracknell Town Mayor for 2023-24 and I am fundraising for my chosen charity of the year, Power of Parenting.
"On April 21 I will be running the Virtual London Marathon, doing two laps of the Bracknell Half Marathon route.
"Power of Parenting is a cause close to my heart as I used to be a Foster Parent.
"This charity works tirelessly to provide activities and education for young people who are looked after or in care, helping them reach their potential.
"I know that times are hard at the moment, but any little donation will help a child or young person in need."
