Local residents are being encouraged to gift an advent calendar to someone in need this Christmas.
The Lexicon has teamed up with Bracknell Foodbank to help give local families a little extra cheer this Christmas
Launched on Monday, October 23 a Giving Box can be found in Princess Square, where advent calendars can be donated until November 27.
Bracknell Foodbank will then distribute the advent calendars to local families ahead of December 1.
Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says: “We’re hoping that shoppers will purchase an additional advent calendar when buying for their own families and pop it into our Giving Box.
“We know from previous campaigns run in conjunction with Bracknell Foodbank, a small gesture, really can go a long way to bring smiles to children’s faces.”
Claire Mather, Bracknell Foodbank Manager says: “We are so grateful that the Lexicon has once again chosen to support us this Christmas time.
“Sadly, demand at foodbank this year has been higher than ever before, and we expect to be see even more families turn to us in the winter months.
“Seemingly small things like being able to give your child an advent calendar can make a huge difference when you’re going through a difficult time financially."
