This Halloween, Bracknell Forest Council is encouraging families who are celebrating to recycle their carved pumpkins.
The council has suggested that once the pumpkin has been decorated, lit outside for trick-or-treaters, or displayed inside the home, locals should reuse the vegetable.
A Twitter post discussing the matter stated that the pumpkin could be used for cooking after Halloween is over, such as in a stew or soup.
The council has also implored the public to dispose of their pumpkins in an environmentally friendly way, such as putting them in food waste or using them as compost.
They have also suggested that if the pumpkin is too big to fit in the food waste bin, locals can leave it next to their outside food caddy on the morning of collection and bin services will take it away.
