An elderly pedestrian was rushed to hospital with life-changing injuries following a crash outside a Bracknell shopping centre.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 pm on Tuesday, January 9 outside the Great Hollands shopping centre in Bracknell.
A silver Ford Moneo with ladders on its roof collided with a man in his sixties causing serious injuries to his head and abdomen.
The forty-year-old driver from Bracknell has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving, driving whilst unfit through drugs and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
Investigating officer PC Matthew Ames-White of the Roads Policing Unit, based at Taplow, said: “I’m appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident, or who may have dash-cam footage that has captured the collision or the moments leading up to it, to please contact Thames Valley Police.
“You can do so by making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43240011854.”
The driver was uninjured and has been released on bail until April 1 while investigations continue.
