A popular Berkshire town has been named one of the happiest places to live in the UK.
This comes as Rightmove has published its Happy at Home index ranking UK towns and cities according to what residents truly think of them.
Voted best in Berkshire, Wokingham offers the best of beautiful landscapes and close-knit community that comes with rural living combined with a quality selection of schools and shops.
According to the 26,000 respondents, the market town has the best of both worlds within the commuter belt.
Although the popularity and desirability of Wokingham is rising, according to Rightmove house prices in the town were 3 percent lower in 2023 than they were in 2022. This is despite predictions that property prices will soon rise.
As well as being listed as one of the UK’s happiest towns, it has also been classed as one of the safest places in the region too.
It boasts a crime rate 24 percent lower than the rest of Berkshire according to public safety data reports.
The newly regenerated town centre boosts a brand-new leisure centre, an arcade and bowling alley and a host of quaint independent shops and restaurants.
