A police man has been found not guilty of assault a year after he was charged and suspended from duty.
In Staines Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, January 17, Sergeant William Gilbert was acquitted of common assault and Section 4A public order in Bracknell.
Sergeant Gilbert, who was suspended from duty, was found not guilty by Magistrates in connection with an incident reported at The Admiral Cunningham Pub in Bracknell on August 9, 2022.
He was interviewed under caution and charged via postal requisition on January 4, 2023.
An investigation by the force’s Professional Standards Department is ongoing.
