Harper, a three-year-old Trailhound crossbreed, is on the lookout for his forever home at Dogs Trust Newbury having spent almost 500 days in the charity’s care.
Harper arrived at Dogs Trust in November 2022 after being found as a stray.
A sweet boy, who loves to receive fuss and cuddles from his favourite humans, Harper is looking for an active adult only home.
He enjoys long walks and exploring new places. As a Trailhound, Harper is driven by tracking animal scents outdoors, so is looking for a home that can facilitate this with scent games, tracking or outdoor adventures.
Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Newbury Natasha Tarrant said:
“Harper is a lovely, handsome, chap, who would love to find his active forever family.
“A very sweet dog, Harper loves his toys, and places his favourite soft toy next to himself when he goes to sleep."
At Dogs Trust, Harper has made some doggy friends and, once slowly bonded, he could have walking friends with tolerant dogs when out and about.
Harper will need to continue working on his training around settling in the home, confidence on walks, and with handling.
His adopters will also need to make sure that any time left on his own is built up slowly in the home.
