A new restaurant in The Lexicon features in this week’s roundup of planning applications and decisions in Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough. And horse riders will be happy with two developments in Warfield and Finchampstead.
You can view each one by going to the relevant council’s planning website and searching for the application number provided.
Bracknell Forest: Signs for new restaurant (24/00004/A)
An application for permission to put up signs for a new town centre cafe and bar has been submitted to Bracknell Forest Council.
A company called Lounges UK Ltd wants permission to install signs reading ‘Pineto Lounge’ at 6 Eagle Lane in the Lexicon. The company's website also advertises kitchen and front of house staff job vacancies for a new opening on Eagle Lane.
Bracknell Forest: all weather horse exercise track (23/00634/FUL)
An all-weather exercise track for polo ponies has been approved at a new stables set to be built at a farm in Warfield.
Plans to provide stables, feed and tack storage as a new source of income at Longhorn Farm on Malt Hill in Warfield had already been approved.
Consultant company Pike, Smith and Kemp said the farm is in a popular area for outdoor and indoor polo playing in the summer and winter. They say that the proposed exercise track will allow polo ponies to be ridden, trained and exercised at all times of the year.
Wokingham Borough: Pony club camp (232491)
Wheatlands Farm in Finchampstead has been granted permission to build a clubhouse so that pony club camp attendees can stay overnight.
The farm already has cross country courses, two outdoor all-weather arenas, a lunge area and some 130 acres of land. It has allowed a small number of pony club camps there – but attendees have to come and go each day. Farm owners said this is ‘far from ideal’ as it means increased daily traffic on White Horse Lane.
They say the clubhouse will allow attendees to stay overnight, reducing traffic. They add that residential camps will be mostly restricted to spring or summer.
Wokingham Borough: Homes on Barkham Road (240179)
An application has been submitted for planning permission to build three detached homes on Barkham Road, just east of Barkham Manor.
A planning statement submitted with the application says two of the homes would be two-storey - one containing four bedrooms and the other five bedrooms. The third house would be single story, and contain three bedrooms.
