Bracknell shoppers are buzzing after the news of a brand-new jacket potato truck dropped last week.
The Spud Wagon is set to open on Wednesday, February 14 in the heart of Bracknell town centre on the High Street between Primark and Boots.
After news of its arrival reached the public, excited residents took to Facebook and social media to express their excitement.
Some readers reminisced about the old jacket potato van that stood in Bracknell in the 90’s. This food truck was located by the old bandstand in the town and was a favorite lunch spot.
Katie Olliffe commented on the news saying that she remembers the old one which stood beside the old Santander in the town centre.
Anouska Henley said: “My favorite lunch when I worked in the town.”
The new eatery seems to be just what some residents were looking for, with others saying that they had been mentioning it in recent conversations with friends.
Lou Jerrett said: “Brilliant. Was only last weekend I said this was missing.”
Orla Hogan added: “Kim Hutchins they must have heard us!!”
With the excitement of an independent business coming to Bracknell, many readers commented on another business that also sells jacket potatoes in the town centre.
Brew Coffee Bar is an independent café in Easthampstead Works, selling a host of hot drinks, sweet treats, and snacks.
Katie White praised their ‘huge, fully loaded jacket potatoes’ in a relaxing and ‘chill’ family-friendly café.
Laura Latter said: “This is brilliant news.”
Although many readers voiced their excitement, others spoke of their frustration as more food outlets entered the shopping complex.
Katie Woodington commented: “Ooh, another food outlet. There'll be no shops left soon, only food outlets.”
Allen Carter added: “Great more food places in town just what we need.”
Despite the differing opinions, however, it looks like there is excitement in the air for their official launch this week (14/2).
