Local college students have unveiled their costume designs after being tasked to upcycle donated mannequins.
On Thursday, February 8, students at Bracknell and Wokingham College unveiled their art and fashion exhibition at The Lexicon.
Students at the college have created 12 designs on 12 mannequins that were destined for landfill, as part of a work experience project with The Lexicon.
Each mannequin depicts a month of the year, and the students, in keeping with a theme of sustainability, have incorporated donated upcycled materials into their designs.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon said: “The students have really excelled with their designs.
"Both the creative thinking and practical implementation have resulted in a spectacular art exhibit for the town centre.”
Sue Dew-Gosling, Creative Arts Lecturer at Activate Learning, added: “The students have had a fabulous opportunity to show their creative skills in this live project, upcycling materials and using their ingenuity to make colourful seasonal designs.”
The mannequins exhibition will run until February 19 and visitors to The Lexicon are being asked to vote for their favourite.
The winning student design team will win tickets to Cineworld and a meal at Five Guys.
