Thames Valley Police have confirmed that a fire that broke out in the early hours of the morning is being treated as ‘non-suspicious’.
At around 4:06am this morning (9/4), emergency services were called to reports of a blaze at The Bull public house in Arborfield Cross.
When crews from multiple stations across Berkshire arrived they found that the outhouse beside the main pub building had caught alight.
After over three hours at the scene, the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire, leaving a lingering burning smell across the village.
Following police investigations into the fire, Thames Valley Police have released a statement on their social media. They said: “The fire has been completely put out by Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. No person's were harmed during this incident and it is not being treated as suspicious.
“The only road closure is on Swallowfield Road between The Bull and Chamberlain Gardens due to the building being unsafe and tiles still coming off the building.”
